THE SUMMER PROJECT.....

Here's what we've been up to for the last month - we affectionately call it "The Backyard Upgrade". Here's the before:

It will take a growing season to bring it all together. What you can't tell from these pictures is how many rocks we picked up and relocated - it was endless! the whole "Rock of Nickerson" was filled with little rocks - we also relocated the forsythia and my other various plants around the yard to create hopefully, a hummingbird garden next Spring. The grass seed is planted so when it grows and fills in the rock will look even better.

We also leveled off way up back, put weed control and black mulch in between the rocks (that we brought in) and relocated my iris, daisies and other plants to their new homes. It was truly a labor of love! The ground has been so dry we've had to water constantly, keeping an eye on our water level as well. But.....it's just about completed!
