LOOKING FORWARD AND REFLECTING BACK...

Happy 2010 everyone! We spent last night celebrating with friends and dancing to a really good band who's lead singer also happens to be a friend and neighbor of ours. We were home to watch the ball drop in Times Square (can't remember the last time we did that) and toasted with glasses of champagne!

Tom and I talked about the past year and what's to come with this new year....doing that brought many things to mind hence the "reflecting back"...

January - our good friend Butch died as a result of falling on the ice and hitting his head
February - a month spent with friends at our house for dinner, with friends at the Opera House and friends at the KP dances
March - found us at the Portland Pirates for the kickoff event for the CCFA and started us on a fundraising spree for them
April - ha, I turned another year older, Tom took another adult class for baseball and we took the 3 boys to the circus
May - the Old Time Oprey, grandparents day and the Take Steps Walk (one of the years highlights)
June - Tom's daughter Ashton graduated, my class reunion and the Lion's Club clambake in the rain (not so fun)
July - granddaughter Addilya Taylor was born
August - Tom turned another year older and celebrated reaching day 10,000 working for Poole's!!
September - the "It's over party" and AJ's wedding
October - Tom won tickets to the Patriots game, clubhouse seats and we gave them to Kevin and Angel for Kevin's birthday - significant cause it snowed that day; Tom and I celebrated 6 years of being married
November - Tom saw his son Courtney take his first degree in the Masons and of course another great holiday at Sherie's!
December - we both had many days off and enjoyed each one - then there were the many Christmas parties - including the "Great Dessert Extravaganza"

Tom and I have chosen to reflect back on the many good things we have done for many people - thank you to Heather for creating a blog causing us who read it to think about doing for others without expecting back. I'm very thankful for having good health (I could've done without this sprained wrist though!!) and I'm looking forward in the coming year to be able to do as much for others as I can (without expecting anything back). A co-worker of mine was overheard to say the other day when someone asked her what her New Years resolution "to try and be nicer" - I'm so glad I practice that already! and.....I truly hope she can accomplish that!

Now, here's the past year summed up in a few pictures................

  1. I liked your blog this New Year....hits the spot! We spent New Years in Manchester NH taking Trent to the airport to fly out New Years Day to visit a friend of his in Colorado which they have been friends since grammar school...much needed rest and fun for him. We did not hestate to give up New Years to do for one of our kids! So we were delayed getting there due to a car fire in Falmouth and hoped and prayed whoever it was is ok, and went to bed before the ball dropped! I will practice being kind and rethink everything before action is taken and expect nothing back...as Trent said to me "you don't look back in the past..." Happy New Year!
