THE ENTRYWAY IS FINISHED...

Good news and bad news: Good news is our carpenter showed up and as he promised he finished the entryway before Flag Day! The bad news is: because he was in and out of the house so much the mother robin abandoned her eggs and departed the scene. Robins lay more than just one batch of eggs a season so I hope for her 2nd nest she picked somewhere quieter.

As you can see by the pictures we kept it simple and in matching the rest of the house with the paneling. Danny made us a storage bench that replaces the closet that was there - there's so much room inside!! And at Lowe's yesterday we found a 4 hook coat rack that matches the door handles in the house (have to go back for another one for the opposite wall). Romeo sneaks out to check it out every now and then. I'm loving the new window - nice ventilation and view of the decks and back yard (notice my princess lilac in bloom).

The first room you see when you come in was almost the last room to be redone...well worth the money and the time we spent painting. With the "busy"ness of my class reunion Friday (and brother and sister-in-law spending the night) and Saturday and get together we had here on Sunday I was happy to have this project done!

  2. Yes, the room redo looked great. I was glad to see the rest of the house too and hear its history from Tom. You guys are welcome to come and do work on my house now :) I enjoyed "Flag Day" too. Good food and good company = good fun!
