KAYDEN 3......TOM 0....AH...BASEBALL

I might have called this one how to entertain a 3 year old and a 55 year old! Give them a baseball and bat and some bare tar! At 3 (soon to be 4) years old Kayden has a good sense of how to play ball. He listened to Tom explain and show him how to hold the bat and tried it Tom's way..then decided he hit it more times doing it Kayden's way. What I didn't capture on the camera was the in between batting times when Kayden's boots hit the mud puddle for some old fashioned jumping time. As the pictures show both boys had fun and it took Tom back to when he showed his kids how to play ball. At the dollar store we found semi-plastic bases - those were a big hit with the ball players. Amazing what you can find sometimes that will amuse people for little money. After the baseball was retired back to the S.H.O.P. Kayden and I went in search of what created a set of footprints out back in the snow.
Flashlight in hand (broad daylight mind you) off we went. We searched in trees... And all over the backyard. Then we decided to try and dig through the snow to find the very buried sandbox...
No luck with that but the fresh air wore us all out. Kayden was falling asleep sitting in the retro chair playing a video game and I wasn't far behind him! Perhaps we have a future Red Sox player in our midst. Tom's hoping Kayden follows up on his apparent love of baseball! Happy Spring and Happy St. Patrick's Day to all.
